Things I’m Binging During Quarantine

We’re now into what feels like week 50 of living in quarantine, and needless to say staying busy can get tough! Just like all of you, I’ve been binge-watching a ton of shows, and I’ve been binging on some podcasts as well. I know that a lot of you probably feel like you’re running out of things to watch (and do in general!), so I wanted to share some of my faves of the moment. Let me know if you watch or listen to any of the below!

Love Is Blind

Okay I have to admit, I finished this one pretty fast! If you haven’t heard of Love Is Blind yet, the Netflix dating show has the most wild concept. Couples can’t see each other at all (hence the name), and once they finally choose a partner, they get engaged and then move in together. It’s basically like dating backwards, but entertaining nonetheless. I can’t even lie, the cringeworthy moments are some of the very best!

Unorthodox

Another Netflix hit! Unorthodox is a short series that could totally be watched in one sitting. I could not stop watching it. The story follows a young woman who flees her arranged marriage and life in Brooklyn for a life abroad in Berlin. It’s a great way to learn a lot about another culture and watch someone create a new life for themselves. I’ll save you the spoilers, but it’s a must-watch!

Molly’s Game

This one is actually a movie, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. Molly’s Game premiered in theaters a few years ago, and it’s the true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who’s also behind an intense poker game. Her players included Hollywood stars, athletes, business executives–you name it! She was eventually arrested by a swat of FBI agents in the middle of one night, and you’ll have to see the rest for yourselves.

Little Fires Everywhere

Hats off to Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington for absolutely killing these roles! Little Fires Everywhere is based on the novel written by Celeste Ng, and it shows the huge disparities between the way families live. It depicts the lengths people will go to in order to get what they want, no matter what’s destroyed in the process. If you read the book, the series is pretty different, but it’s too good to not watch!

The Daily Podcast

This is a podcast done by The New York Times, hosted by political journalist Michael Barbaro. It’s a great way for me to get my news of the day, and the reporting is highlighted in a fresh and interesting way. I’m doing my best by staying in the loop with everything that’s going on, and this podcast definitely helps.

My Favorite Murder Podcast

Love true crime? Then you must listen to My Favorite Murder! What’s unique about it is that there’s a comedic twist, and it’s hosted by stand-up comedian Karen Kilgariff and writer Georgia Hardstark. There’s a reason why it’s been a top podcast for four years now!

Intimate Knowledge Podcast

Shameless plug here! I listen to my podcast after our recordings because I find myself learning even more every time. If you’re not subscribed to Intimate Knowledge, my co-hosts and I discuss everything about intimacy, sex, and relationships. Trust me, it’s worth the listen.

Ryan Blair Meditation

I’ve talked about Ryan Blair before and his meditation sessions have helped me a lot during this time. Ryan’s a spiritual leader, and his meditation involves prayer as well with all faiths welcome. I like starting my day with this to set the tone and stay positive, which is what we all need now!
