Meghan’s Mom Blog: Sleep Training (plus giveaway!)

One of the most common questions I get asked as a new mom is “How is she sleeping?” Once Aspen reached 4 1/2 months she had started waking up multiple times throughout the night and could only be soothed by nursing. I was filming RHOC at the time and was exhausted so I checked with my pede who said she was taking in enough nutrition throughout the day to sleep through the night so I knew it was time: sleep training time!

I found Erika Lamour from The Sleep Dept by way of Instagram and we teamed up right away. I used a method where I’d set my timer on my phone for 10 minutes once Aspen began crying, now let me be clear here: fussing is not crying! She had to be in a full-blown cry for the timer to begin. It. Was. Hell. But I persisted. After only three nights of this setting the timer business she was sleeping 11-12 hours at night! (If she cried past the timer I’d go into her room and pick her up and soothe her then put her back in her crib before she was asleep.)

I hope that any sleep-deprived parents have my same results, the short torture of her tears were worth the sleep we both got. Plus Aspen learned a new skill: self-soothing (maybe this is a real thing and maybe it’s something we tell ourselves to make ourselves feel better, I don’t know. But I do know Aspen won’t remember this and I certainly will remember the horrible days of sleep deprivation!)

Erika and I have teamed up to offer three customized sleep programs for you and your little one. This includes 24 hour support for as long as you need it and can be used from wherever you are in the world! Just like their insta page @TheSleepDept and tag a friend who needs them in the comments below. And make sure to let me know how it worked for you!

  14. I exactly know what sleep deprivation feels like. My daughter was a bad sleeper since day 1 and when she turned 4 months I decided to do something about it. I searched the internet and people were talking a lot of nice things about Susan Urban and her guide “How to teach a baby to fall asleep alone” ( I found the guide here: http://www.parental-love.com ) and the HWL method. I decided to try it and I am so happy I did it. After 4 days of HWL my daughter was able to fall asleep alone in her crib without rocking her. We made her sleep longer than 15 mins during the day and the method also helped us get rid of night feedings!
I think everybody with a baby should read the guide to stop being so crazy exhausted.

One other thing is always that individual American states have their own personal laws in which affect householders, which makes it very, very hard for the our lawmakers to come up with a different set of recommendations concerning home foreclosure on people. The problem is that each state features own laws and regulations which may work in a negative manner in relation to foreclosure plans.

  43. Thanks a lot for the helpful article. It is also my opinion that mesothelioma cancer has an particularly long latency period of time, which means that warning signs of the disease might not emerge right until 30 to 50 years after the primary exposure to asbestos. Pleural mesothelioma, that’s the most common variety and impacts the area throughout the lungs, will cause shortness of breath, breasts pains, plus a persistent coughing, which may bring about coughing up maintain.
